What products are available online?
Comfort Works is an online workroom where you are able to custom make or personalise soft furnishings. Products available online are any-size-you-want custom cushion slipcovers, custom curtains and sheers, custom quilt or duvet covers. We specialise in custom made IKEA SOFA COVERS namely, Karlanda, Ektorp, Kramfors, Klippan, Nikkala, Ekeskog, Lillberg, Tomelilla, Tylosand, Allerum, Kivik, Karlstad, Manstad, Mysinge, Nils, Jennylund, Henriksdal and Poang. If you have an IKEA sofa that is not on this list, please contact us at [email protected] . As Comfort Works is essentially an online workroom, feel free to put our craftsman and seamstresses to the test. We are able to custom make non-IKEA sofa covers, dining chair covers, headboards, bean bags, shoe bags, arm cover protectors, pillow covers, Pottery Barn sofa slipcovers, Ottoman covers, pet bed covers, bolster and cushion inserts, and many more. All fabrics shown are for sale by the meter. If you are looking for a specific fabric, and don´t see it on our website, please contact us and we may be able to source it for you.

How do I order free fabric samples?
As colour quality may vary depending on your monitor´s resolution and graphical settings, we strongly suggest that you use these colours as a guide only. We recommend ordering swatches via the FREE SAMPLES link (top right hand side of the website) to test the colour and texture in your own home. You can order up to 5 fabric samples for free. Every extra sample thereafter is $1 each. We will refund any amount paid for the extra fabric samples once an order has been placed.

Can I be certain that my order will be an exact colour match to my swatch?
Not always. Dealing with natural fabrics, especially naturally dyed linens and cottons can and will be slightly different dye lot to dye lot. Lots can basically differ in shade and tone very slightly (2-5% variation), and from time to time the swatch that we send out might come from a batch that’s different from what is used to produce your order. Again, while the variations normally very slight. There are certain fabrics which are greater offenders than others — e.g. Lino Brushed, Gaia Flax, Gaia Sand, Gaia Charcoal, Gaia Fog. What we can promise is that your order, e.g. a sofa and an armchair: they will be made from the same batch in order to be of the same tint of colour.

Can I use my own fabric?
Unfortunately, we are unable to provide Customers-Own-Material (COM) services currently. As cutting mistakes do happen during production, we would not be able to advise how much fabric is needed. Also, shipping fabrics to us will increase the overall cost of your project.

Can I add piping to my sofa slipcovers/ cushions/ etc?
Yes, you can. Please email us at [email protected] for a quotation and if you would like your piping to be of the same or of contrasting fabric.

Do you make NON-IKEA sofa slipcovers / NON-IKEA dinning chair slipcovers?
Yes, we do. Please send us pictures of your furniture at [email protected]: front, with and without cushions, side view and back view. We will also need a measurement of the total width of the couch and the name of the fabric you like for us to determine fabric usage and work involved. From here we´ll let you know a cost estimate.

I have a Nikkala sofa. What does the hard or soft Velcro model option mean?
The difference between the soft and hard Velcro models, is the type of Velcro sewn on to the base of your slipcover. In some parts of the world, Nikkala Sofas have a hard Velcro sewn on the slipcover and the soft Velcro on the sofa frame. In other parts of the world, the Velcros are sewn the other way round. To check, simply unstrap your current slipcover at its base and see if you have the soft (loop) or the hard (hook) Velcro sewn on the fabric. If you have the soft Velcro on your slipcover, then you should choose the soft Velcro option when placing your order.

I have a Kramfors leather sofa. Will your fabric or leather slipcovers fit?
Both leather or fabric replacement slipcovers for your Kramfors leather sofa are available. The slipcover will basically be sewn to fit over the existing leather cover, hence there is no need to remove the original skin. In both cases, there will be a bit of DIY required on your part. You will need to remove the metal base/ legs and tuck the slipcover underneath in order that the sofa will have a tighter, more tailored fit. As the original leather sofa does not come with Velcro straps at the bottom, you can always staple gun the slipcovers’ skirt to the base.

I have a Kramfors leather sofa. Can I order replacement seat cushions only?
f you just want to fix a tear on that chocolate brown leather Kramfors—you´ve come to the right place! We can definitely custom make the seat cushions for you. Order a sample of our Urbanskin Kramfors to colour match it to your current leather sofa. Please note that your cushion covers will not come with the baseball stitching as in the original IKEA cover. Do you make replacement seat covers only for IKEA cushions?
Yes. In most cases, we are able to make just the cushion seat covers. We find that this helps if you have a stain or a tear in one of your slipcovers and feel no need to replace the base cover. If you have a Kramfors Leather Sofa, we have replacement leather seat covers, simply choose the seat covers only options here. If you are looking for replacement seat covers only, please note that we do not use the same fabrics as IKEA’s, so the fabrics do not match exactly. We recommend ordering free samples before contacting us for a quotation.

How can I check the status of an online order?
Production and delivery times for all custom made items take 4-6 weeks after receipt of payment, . To get an estimated delivery date, allow up to six weeks for receipt of yourorder. You can also email us at [email protected] with subject header “Order Status [#Invoice Number]” and we will check the status of your order and advise you accordingly.

What forms of payment are accepted?
Comfort Works accepts payments by PayPal, which in turn accepts all major credit cards such as Visa, Mastercard and Discovery Card. You don’t need a PayPal account to complete the transaction [Read more here]. Your credit card will be charged only when you validate your order, subsequently, PayPal and Comfort Works will send you an email confirmation once payment is received. For customers from Australia, there is a bank transfer option where you must email details of your order (description & quantity), shipping address and full contact details to: [email protected]. Subject header should indicate “Payment by Bank Transfer (Your Full Name)”. Your order will then be placed from our office. Next, a Customer Service Representatives will email to you the invoice number, amount and payment info. When payment is confirmed, your order will be sent to Production.

What currencies does Comfort Works accept?
We accepts AUD, EUR, USD and GBP. To get the pricHow long does it take you to respond to emailse in your preferred currency, click on it at the top right corner of the webpage before choosing the size, model and material. The page will automatically refresh to your currency setting and display the price accordingly. For all other currencies, Comfort Works will convert your local currency into AUD by default during checkout.

Will Comfort Works send an order confirmation by email?
Yes. After the payment is finalised, PayPal will issue you a confirmation. Comfort Works will simultaneously send you an email with the invoice attached. If you choose your preferred currency from the list in the top right corner of the page, all of our prices will be displayed in that currency
